intake manifold studs

The studs that connect the carbs to the intake manifold have a code of CHS2516. They are coarse thread on one end and fine on the other. What is the proper tap/die for this coarse thread? My UNC 5/16 tap and die do not seem to fit.

Thanks!

Hi JJS,
You might want to list what model car you have in your profile, or add a signature. The early cars (100s) may have different thread pitches than say a BJ8.

Hello JJS,

Greg has a point, it may be different for the 100s, but on all the 6 cylinder manifolds I have the holes are 5/16x18tpi and the studs are 5/16x18 on the manifold end and 5/16x24 on the carb/nut end. The early cars may have something else - metric or whitworth or ?

Thanks,
I have a 1960 BN7. However the manifold I'm working with is a later BJ8 2-in manifold.

Thanks

Hello JJS,

They will be as red57 said, the BJ8 is no different.

The coarse thread screws into the manifold because it is aluminum.

bundyrum.
