Intake/exhaust manifold gaskets

I'm putting the intake and exhaust manifolds back on my TR4 engine tonight. I didn't see anything in the manual about using any sealant on the gaskets, but wanted to double check with the experts. Is any thing needed between the block and the manifold besides the gaskets?
 
Dry seems to work for me.

Make sure all the surfaces are flat, the guide pins are in place, and the manifolds don't hang up on anything (like where the block sticks out beyond the head). IMO it's best to separate the manifolds before installing them (I leave mine separated, but you can tighten those two nuts if you want).

I recommend new lock washers every time, and I also use heavy flat washers on the outermost studs (the ones without a bridge piece).
