Insurance

While classic insurance companies all have different sets of rules and restrictions, a few rules are universal to all of them.

1. Car must be a secondary vehicle
2. All licensed persons in household must have their own primary vehicle registered to them
3. Car must be kept in a locked garage while at home
4. Car may not be used for commercial purposes or daily duties (pleasure use only)
5. No driver under the age of 25 may operate the vehicle

Some companies allow unlimited mileage and are very lenient on how the vehicle is used, and other restrict miles as low as 500 per year, and usage to car shows and parades only. The annual rates typically reflect the leniency of these restrictions. Haggerty and Grundy Worldwide are the two biggest companies and have similar restrictions. Rates will vary from company to company depending on the type of vehicle, location, driving record, etc. For my cars, Grundy had the lowest rates and the best match of restrictions to my type of use.

On behalf of your parents, hold that thought. Remember, no dating till you are married! :yesnod:

So what your saying is that when i'm married I can then date??? Wouldn't that be cheating on my husband???

Allstate has been GREAT to us. We pay $25 per car for just liability, but we're a bit older and don't have anything on our record. Just be glad you're not a guy or it would be higher. Got pics of your car?

We've used Hagerty for quite some time and have found them very friendly and extremely willing to help in a claim. It's like anything else, if someone treats you right, you stick with them. Hagerty has done that for us in the past, so there's no reason for us to change. They do have pretty strict rules.
MGB girl, you have three things against you on insurance. Your age, you want a daily driver and it's a sports car! You will need a regular insurance company. Some might not even insure you, because you want to insure a "sports" car and some companies consider that a high risk, regardless of it's low horsepower. Maybe dad can add you to his policy, worth a try. Good luck, hope everything works out ok. PJ

Sadly, the only pics I have are the ones that were on ebay. But, I am going to try and eventually take some of my own and put them up. Just not enough time in the day and computers act the slowest when they need to work faster. You know?

Well, we have progressive and they referred us to Hagerty. Hagerty declined us because we had to many people living here and apperently not enough other daily drivers. And we also do not have a garage. So we are trying to find regular insurance that is cheap. So far the cheapest is $51 but that's still a lot compared to $18 a month.
