Insurance

Both of my cars are on Hagerty and are about $275 a year for both. I have them both at $10k coverage.

AIG has been my insurance company for about 15 years for all of my cars, except the B...for which they referred me to American Collector and I pay $58 per year for an agreed value of $5000 and escelates for inflation automatically. I have shopped online for other companies, but AIG gives me the best deal I can find. Progressive.com gave me a great deal on insuring the Bass Tracker, but even told me to stay with AIG for my cars.

Many years ago, AETNA outright refused to renew my policy (written through a long time agent who was a family friend) three months after I bought my 69 MGB...after I sold it, I found out that if I had changed my coverage from their "AutoStrite I" policy to their "AutoStrite II" policy, I would have had no problem, but my agent and the company didn't tell me that...I found out later through another agent who insured half of the fleet where I worked. Aetna lost that business at the next renewel...revenge can be sweet!

Hi There;

I have My `66 TR4A Insured by "Condon & Skelley" out of Maple Shade, NJ: They are "Classic Car Ins. Brokers": I`ve been with them for over 30yrs so I guess they`ll be around for awhile:

Anyways; My TR is Insured for an "AGREED UPON VALUE"; This is the Key Phrase for Anyone / Everyone to know and use: Should My Car get run over by an 18 Wheeler & Totalled; The Ins. Co. writes me a check for $20K, No Questions Asked!

I`ve recently had to make a Claim (1st one in over 30yrs): See My Post "My TR4 Got Crunched": There you can get info. on this Co. & Make yourself a comparison; If you wish:

Have Fun;

Regards, Russ

I'm using AAA for all three of my cars: the MGB GT, the Porsche and the Volvo. When I added the MGB I wanted the minimum possible coverage (it's still not quite ready for the road), and couldn't care less about the replacement cost, since it can't be worth more than roughly what I paid ($900). I think the premium went up by $100 for the year. They had no problem finding "MGB" in their list of known cars, and asked me if it was the coupe or the convertible. So I'm a happy camper with AAA.
