I just purchased a TR3 millboard gas tank cover panel from Moss. It didn't come with the 5 holes pre-drilled in it and I don't have my old one. Does anyone know of a way to figure out exactly where to punch or drill? the 5 screw holes so they meet up with the holes in the top and bottom metal tabs? Do I have to make a template? Thanks.

Art-

To be safe, I'd just make a template. I did exactly that for my TR4 last week, just some large paper and tape and it was very accurate.

Thanks, Randy. Did you find that you needed to actually drill holes and countersink the cup washers or were you just able to use something like a small nail to punch the holes and the tightening of the screws countersunk the cup washers? Thanks.

I used a drill bit to set the holes, backed it up with some scrap wood when I drilled. All the rough edges were hidden by the screws and washers just fine.

Does anyone know if the bottom 1" or so of the cover panel which has a slight crease in along the entire bottom between the triangle cutouts is supposed to be bent which you install it?? If so, do you bent it toward the gas tank or toward the back of the car?? Mine just won't fit in. Thank you.
