TR6 Installing stock trailing arm bushings on the car - is it possible?

Have decided to install the stock rubber bushings. Have the following questions:

--Using the threaded-rod method, is it possible to press the bushings out and in with the trailing arm in place on the car?

--Failing that, is it possible to detach the brake plate and lines from the swing arm while leaving the e-brake and brake pipe still attached to the plate, moving the brake plate off to the side while dropping the trailing arm off the car?

I can't say for sure one way or the other having never tried that with trailing arms in place. Access would be rather tight, especially on the outboard bushings. It may be possible, but is enough of a PITA to do off the car, I'd hate to imagine the new profanities that I would come up with trying to R&R the bushings on the car.

The flex hose on the LH side is rather short and I don't know that you could get enough slack in it to remove that backing plate with all the bits on it. I've tried reaching back through the cobwebs of my mind and just don't recall if I have ever done that or not. If I did, the trailing arm was out of its brackets and on a stand moved inboard to give a bit more slack. It's a different story on the RH side, it can be done there, but the trailing arm was out of the brackets to do so.

See comments above in blue.

I did mine as part of a frame up restoration and doing it under the car would be maybe not much hardier but take more time. Springs are off and half shafts are easy to remove and lines the same. Doing it on a bench etc. safer, I do know pulling my differential alone to replace seals was a well you know a **^** Madflyer
