Installing Sprite Luggage Rack

We just purchased a luggage rack for the boot and a Sprite emblem for the bonnet. Any tips or input on installing these would be greatly appreciated as it appears to be the only items in the world without a YouTube how-to video. The thought of drilling holes in the bonnet and trunk has my friends and me spooked.

and you might want double sided tape and drill right through the rack holes in to the body

Thanks for the input.
I may try to recruit someone from the TBAHC to help me as i'm not know to be real exact and this sounds like a precision job.

IIRC most of these - especially in early years were installed by dealers - so there is no "right way" or "right location." if it looks right and balanced - you are probably good to go. I use my wife for these things because she has a very very good eye for balance and location - Oh and make sure you don't drill a hole where you then have to go through a brace underneath as well

Drilling holes in paint I get goosebumps just at the thought...
ive seen a chunk of paint knock off a 70 mustang hood for a hood pin surround the size of a quarter fly off
still weep a little now as I think about it. Lacquer paint ...

I have a fully rechromed luggage rack for my 6.... it's still in the box as I don't have the stomach to drill holes in my boot lid :scared:
