I have seats that need recovering. Any tips? Also how do you take off the head rests?

You have a PM.

You need to jerk/pull straight up on the headrest of the MGB seats...there is a retaining clip the sometimes gets frozen over the years.

In the tourer, it may help to leave the seats bolted in the car for leverage.

Mind yer chin, BTW. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

vping, dont know a thing about your head rest but an old timer once showed me that placing the new foam in a plastic dry cleaning bag allows you to move/adjust the covers rather easily.

That part I've seen done but one step more by using a vacuum to compress the foam. How stiff is new foam in relation to old? My foam has the shape it should have just not sure if it has the density. I was wundering If I should apply a layer of 1/2" and form it like the original to perk it back up.

vping, considering the age of your old foam id think new would be much stiffer and depending on who you buy it from may require it be re-shapped/cut.

Yes I saw that and printed it. No chance this is available as a .pdf is there? I never thought to check the VB website.

What are seat foams costing these days? Also my cardboard backer need some work.

Dah knee was no problem at all. A week after pulling the stitches I was right as rain. Still a bit tough kneeling to work on the car and house chores as a result of the scrapping of the underside of the knee cap. May never be 100% but it won't slow me down.

$40 per seat cushion is that the back also and what about that cardboard? Should I fabricate the cardboard?
