TR4/4A Installing new fender beads on TR4

Getting ready to install my newly painted TR4 fenders and fender beads and would appreciate any current advice/suggestions on getting this done properly without scratching the car and keeping the beads tight. Do you loosely attach the fenders than attach the beads or maybe even attach the beads to the fenders first than attach as a unit?
Thanks for your help.

When I did mine, I first attached the fenders (loosely), then fed the tabs on the beading into the gap.

Then I pulled the tabs down (from inside) while tightening the bolts. Helps to have another set of hands. After they were all set, I then bent the tabs over.

I didn't use any kind of sealer between the fender and the body.
