I also have changed ALL dash lights from LAMPS to LED (AMBER color was the better choice for me)
I have maintained the same original lamp sockets so the change is very easy, and results are good
in my new hearness I have eliminated all new plastic sockets, with the metallic oldest
also H. Beam(BLUE) and Dynamo(RED) are LED-- also added Over Drive Controll LED https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/HM6QrJQlKH_8huuf4cn8udMTjNZETYmyPJy0liipFm0?feat=directlink

I have LED also for under dash courtesy lights (my are soft blue)

Beautiful indeed. The BJ8 models especially were suited for LED's with the higher mounting under the dash pad. With the older models such as my BJ7 I had to mount the strip under the heater.

Did you mount a trunk light, if so I would be interested in knowing how you connected it?

Hi Johnny
Yes I have drilled a hole in the dash and in the OD plate (2 mm) it works-
BUT if you don't agree to make the hole, I have learn that with the LED just near the OD switch, the light is visible from FUEL gauge
you must chose one LED color that contrasting well from the gauges light, I used Amber with white gauge light -
but Red or Green LED probably have more contrast
Cheers
