Install radio blank plate?

So a good friend had a suggestion for my radio removal (read the included manual) and with a couple thin files I was able to quickly remove the modern radio from the MGB dash. Luckily there was only a very small amount of the opening filed away, so the blanking plate will cover nicely.

So how do I install the blasted thing? Boy do I wish I had small hands.

I got the full kit from Moss, so I've got the chrome bezel, black plate, logo, two brackets and two small clips.

I assume that the U-shaped clips should have their points towards the dash, with the small clips going over the logo studs to bend the U clips to give pressure and hold the whole thing in place? Any install tips here?

I like to put it all together outside of the car. Then rotate the two clips horizontal and place the plate over the hole. While holding it in place with one hand, pretend you're a professional contortionist and reach up behind the dash with the other hand to rotate the clips into place. You may have to pry the tips of the clips up over the lip of the dash, which only take a couple more finders than you have. Good luck!

Bloody h$#@.

Off I go... Good thing I'm not a really big guy or this would be difficult...

Success!

Thanks for the tip, Steve. That did the trick -- especially getting the little clips over the chrome trim bit before putting it into the dash. Popped right in.

Now I just hope I don't have to remove it anytime soon...

Reading this stuff you're going thru reminds me of my youth, Drew.

I'm very much the child-learner here, Doc. Plenty more questions to follow.
