Okay, I'm getting a new complete wiring harness for my 76 Midget. Any warnings or tips anybody can offer as to the install?? I'm doing this because some things worked on my car some didn't and when I started to trace the wires I think I have as many cut wires and complete, it's a complete hash of the original harness.
 
If you are sure your old harness is shot, you can cut wires rather than unplugging stuff. Then when you get ready to connect your new harness the stub of the old wires will be there for comparison.
 
Ooo, that's a good idea. It will let me get a head start while I wait on shipping.

At this point I've found eleven different wires hanging that have been cut, the side markers and rear lights do not work, trunk light doesn't work and the harness inside the cockpit has been shreded, there's at least six dangling unconected wires in there. There's also a ground in the engine bay that is cut about two inches from its screw.
