Ok folks.
Ready to start some re-assembly with the rear axle and suspension.
The spring plate that was spot welded to the floor pans originally: How have you all been reassembling? Drill holes to do plug welds? Just bolt them back in? Bolt in and tack weld around the perimeter..?
I POR'd the under side of the floor. Just trying to figure out what, if any I need to grind to metal for re-installation welding.

Thanks

hmmm...no one puts their springs pans back on? Are they all laying in the corner of everyone's garage"?

Sorry, missed this one.

After you get it all bolted back up tight, you should drill three holes through the pan, floorboard, until you hit the spring box. Then plug weld. (Real fun if the car is upright). Also tack the lip where the spring enters the box.

That is how mine was done. No issues as of yet. I think originally there was also a tack to the shock support bracket.

Thanks Trevor, You're right, there was a weld at the shock bracket..I remember having to cut it..and also a small bead at the spring box.
I planned to weld those, but I was curious if I needed to replace the spot welds on the pan itself.

So far, I've welded both floor pans in without a rotisserie (sp)..so this won't be too awful bad! (I hope)

Sounds like a plan..thanks for the input.
