Inspector George Gently

I watched a couple of episodes of Inspector George Gently, a police drama set in the mid-60's and the Detective Sargent drives a nice powder blue B. Not sure if it is correct for mid-60's something to do with the tail lamps. Did the early B's have orange turn indicators? Wiper arrangement? Just curious.
 
An easy way to spot really old MGBs is to look at the door handle.

From 1962 (the first MGBs) up to about mid 1965, they had "pull-handles". After that, they had "push-the-button" handles.

There's many other little changes, but that's an obvious one

Is this a British show? UK cars had different tail lamps, and didn't change to the triple wipers....
 
ahh, that must be it, it's a current program on the bbc. it had the "tripod" head lamps. I started watching it because of the old cars it has. wife likes detective shows.
 
I always thought English series and movies spent lots of energy and knowledge in applying period correct cars. The MGB in the series, which runs in 1964-1966, is completely non-compliant nor time period. Wrong color, wrong door handles and definitely not originated in the years it’s supposed to be part of. Also, later there’s another B (red) with the wrong (rostyle) wheels and backlights. Love all the old cars but apparently the care for time period requisites has gone?

The wife and I watch a ton of UK detective shows.
I am sometimes disturbed with continuity flubs but I mostly try to keep them to myself.
Happy wife = happy life.
