When we went to visit family in England when I was a kid my dad as an ex-RAF crew chief would sometimes take us to air shows. The Vulcan was often one of the most popular flying exhibits and it had a really distinctive howl when flying towards you. Pretty cool, especially for a kid!

I was at school in Macclesfield and I remember these flying over on test flights from Woodford (near Manchester uk) 1972/3 ?
games on the sports fields just stopped as the boys stood and stared mouths open.
then I remember them being used in the falklands war.
