Innocenti for sale

Was just looking at the pictures of the listing - Does anyone know if the Innocenti shared anything with the Spridget except running gear? Floor Pan looks sort of familiar but then not by the gas tank - plus tube shocks.
 
The Innocentis used the 1/4-elliptic Sprite floorpan, but modified to used semi-elliptic rear springs, and rear tube shocks. The front suspension is all Spridget. The rear axle is Spridget. The rear wheel wells were apparently modified by some guy named Luigi at the Innocenti factory with a 5 pound sledge hammer for clearance for the different convertible top frame. When I got my Innocenti, I thought some previous owner had bashed in the wheel wells, but since then, I've seen others that were done the same way.
 
Lovely little car, and I'd really enjoy having one. But when I think of what else I could get for $25k or thereabouts, like this, it really isn't so attractive any more.

I've been told that Lotus is an acronym for <span style="font-style: italic">Lots Of Trouble, Usually Serious</span>. But I'm not sure if that's mechanical trouble with the car, or other kinds of trouble you can get into with its help.
