Inner Windshield Trim Advice

Greetings,

Thought I'd ask a question to the group about installing the inner vinyl trim pieces on the windshield. I'm picking up my frame from the powder coater today and have a new trim kit to install. It will probably be pretty obvious once I get started but thought I'd ask for some preemptive advice on its installation before I begin.

3M Spray Adhesive? Contact Cement? Any tips or tricks? Any pitfalls or "dont's"?

Thanks in advance,

Just make sure you install your vinyl trip before you install the frame and the glass. Spray adhesive works fine.

Love your car. My wife had an M3 Imolla red. Lovely car but too fast for her. I bought the 4 plastic parts from the Roadster Factory but did not lik the cheap look. I went to fabric store and bought the nicest leather like material I could find. Installed it with Three M in the tube. Fold the joint of one part over the other. I used four peices top bottom and sides. Trim the metal edge and install the glass I have a hardtop and did the lining myself and looks good. Has held up very well and looks like a modern car interior instead of cheap plastic.

My best advise(after doing this for 30+ yrs) for vinyl to steel is 3M BLACK weatherstrip adhesive.Use it in a contact style mode where both sides are allowed to flash but not dry out.Spray adheives are good if you enjoy areosol-highs and overspray!
