Greetings-

I am in the process of inheriting a TR3A (has wide front grill but no synchro drive and no overdrive)

So far I have put n a new battery and tires, i am thinking next steps are fluids such as oil, coolant, clutch reservoir and maybe blowing out the gas lines

I would be interested to hear if there is anything in particular I need to look for, should be looking to replace. The car has been sitting for pretty much the last 10 years but was started and driven around the block every year or so.

Bearings maybe?

Suggestions or comments from another "inheritor" would be appreciated.

Oh to inherit a great British sports car! envy envy

I've attached some great advice on "waking up" an old MG. The TR will be similar - just take it one step at a time.

Got my TR3 up and going after 20 years of ā€˜hibernation’. Radiator and water pump/thermostat looked at, all hydraulics replaced, brake seals replaced, wiring looked at and cleaned up. All suspension points, shocks and Armstrong levers looked at and greased, U-joints cleaned up, gas tank drained and checked.

That’ll keep you busy, good times ahead! We like pics! Lots of great info here in the ā€˜archives’ at BCF, happy hunting.
