T-Series Inertia fuel cutoff switch

If you wish to install an electric inertia switch, use the white wire from the ignition switch to the fuel pump. Later cars locate the under the dash on the firewall. If you have any doubts as to the wiring, look at the wiring diagram for a late model B. If you don't have a wiring diagram, they are available at https://www.advanceautowire.com click on stock schematics.

If you wish to install one on the fuel line, just locate it under the bonnet.

Most of the OE ones have been removed or bypassed because by now they all leak - & replacements aren't available.

I don't have the one installed in the fuel line, but I still have the electric cut-off one under the dash. Are there any disadvantages to keeping the electric one? And what about an inertia cut-off valve from another make of vehicle? I have worked on a lot of makes and MG is the only one where I have seen fuel leaks from the inertia valve. I worked at a DOT and EPA conversion shop for gray market vehicles usually imported from Europe and installing roll-over valves in the fuel lines was just one item on the list of things to do so the cars could be registered in the U.S.

Hi Kimberly,
Yes its the electric one I am looking for, cuts power to the fuel pump in the event of a hard enough knock!, also as an extra deterrent!
Think they work like a pendulum in a container or like a mercury switch, the type I am interested are push button resettable, not activated by oil pressure drop off tho.
Other makes considered!

If you have a source for used late model MG B parts, you may be able to get one there. Moss motors sells them new, but they are a bit pricey.

Electrical: I have those used - & can get those new also....but, were it me, I'd buy the new one. Contact me off-bbs.
