Indy Nascar race only on cable !

I cannot "sit" though a whole race of ANY type unless there is something really special going on! Most races are generally "in the backgound" while I do other stuff! Too often NASCAR races become a 3 lap sprint with a "yellow/white/checker" finish after driving round and round for hours! American open-wheel races are pretty much the same thing in fenderless cars! NASCAR races ARE good excuses for parties, keggers and get-togethers on the weekend though! One of the things I love about F1 (besides for all the normal, motorhead reasons!) is that most of the races come on at 8 am and are over by 10, leaving the rest of the day to be enjoyed!

Boy, not me. I used to get up early to watch F1 and I'd be glued to it right through to the last interviews. Occasionally I'd stay up late to watch the Asian ones at 2am.

Of course I also used to stay for about 18 hours of the 24 hours of Daytona too /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

We would be up before dawn, get out the cappucino machine, all my buds would show up and we'd hoot 'n holler over Ayrton or whomever until the end.

Best-ever Chris "Economacky" interview was as he stuffed the mic into Ayrton's face an' asked why he'd DNF'd... It got past the "bleep button" operators due to the Brazilian's unfamiliar accent and is my ALL TIME fave broadcast quote.

Yeah, yeah, that was then and this is now!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif
(Hey, I did watch the WHOLE race yesterday - Euro GP - from start to finish!! Now there was a LOT going on in that race!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif )

That was an interesting race. I'm convinced a number of those "spins" were intentional to restart (or "suspend") the race. I've never seen anything like it.
