Individual Responsibility

I'm a big believer in Individual Responsibility, but this may be taking things a bit far:

Officer Tickets himself

I mean, if he knows it was an honest mistake, he could have just given himself a warning /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

guess the dump truck driver saw it stopped

I'm guilty of commiting traffic infractions every day, as I'm sure are most of us. Driving over the speed limit comes to mind. However, for me, passing a stopped school bus is a definite NO-NO. I sure wouldn't want to be responsible for injuring a child when it can be avoided so easily. I applaud this guy, and I hope that we all can learn a lesson on the importance of stopping for those school busses.

My thoughts exactly Steve! He should, in his position, be alert to ALL around him. He allowed for a distraction! But kudos for doing the right thing after his mistake!!

My opinion is he is not smart enough to be a police chief.

You don't have to be smart to make it to police chief.....just get yourself elected! (Non-partisan comment, please don't expand on it guys..... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif)

Sounds like the Judge in Portland,Oregon,
who was ticketed for doing 107 down the freeway
in Portland.
When intrviewed, she said that it was a stupid
thing to do,& she deserved the ticket.
Around here,most cops won't give a ticket to a
local Judge - they might have to face them in court
someday.

Gave himself a ticket hmmmmmmmmmmm he should see the cops here heading for the 7-11 for free doughnuts and coffee, one best not be in thier way is all I will say. {I have even seen sirene blaring and lights blazing} Only to see them turn into A 7-11 full of customers!
