Inconsiderate Twits

In what other situations have some of you encountered "inconsiderate twits"?

[/ QUOTE ]

I work retail. I've seen it all.

That I would not doubt in the least..........glad I don't work retail.

I met two of these ITs on my drive to work this morning! They must have been twins or something, because BOTH of them did the exact same thing to me within half a mile of each other. I was driving the speed limit (all of 45MPH) in the ~left~ lane, and the first person makes a left into my lane (which is fine IMO because there was plenty of room when they started) and forgets where the accelerator is and proceeds to move along at 12MPH in a 45MPH zone.

I get around this clown and half a mile down the road ANOTHER IT makes a left into my lane, but THIS time they DIDN'T have enough room to start the maneuver, and they ALSO forget where the accelerator is. So, I had to brake hard so's not to hit the guy, or have him hit me. The margin for error was slim, I could count the water spots on his rear step bumper when he was fully in my lane. Thankfully, the second driver wasn't a complete waste of human flesh and they quickly moved over to the right lane.

If this keeps up, I may have to rig my 'B for "daytime running lights"... heh Though, it probably won't help around these parts.

Push bars maybe? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif I had a police style push bar welded to the bumper on my old 85 Jeep Cherokee, it did come in handy a few times. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

I keep threatening to get one of these and paint it primer black ... any ITs in my way and I could just roll right over them, a little touch up primer and no one would know .... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif I miss the Jeep sometimes - not the weekly repair bills though.

It a shame but I think that most people are inconsiderate in many ways and seldom few really care about everything around them. I won't even throw gum outta my window as it may effect someone at some point. Don't want to mess up my Karma in some way.

One of my pet peeves are those who smokw in their car...then throw the butts out the window. I follow a lady to work who does this almost every day. Don't they have an ash tray?!

That bothers me too, Rick. It's littering. There is no difference between throwing a cigarette out the window and any other piece of burning trash.

when i lived in savn. geog. we had a nucklehead that installed a remote starter in his car so it would be warm when he got in it, in savn?, please spare me, it was never adjusted correctly and would rev the engine to full bore at 6 a.m. everyone in the complex complained to him without results i even went over nice and friendly like and offered to adjust this contraption for him for free he said he doesnt give a **** about the people around him,if i didnt get away from his door he was going to brake my neck etc, etc,if people didnt like it they could move,he was just a bad person, at 10 p.m. the following sunday while the oil in his car was still hot someome got under it with a wrench and an orange/red sealable oil draining pan that one might expect to pay around $12.00 for and emptied his engine, monday morning at exactly 6 a.m. and 34 seconds that problem was solved, one would have thought hed a least make it down the street but no it happend right in his assigned parking spot, following a loud explosion that echoed through the complex almost everyone living in our section come out and started applauding, i know to most people this sounds like a terrible thing to do but sometimes just sometimes one godda do what one godda do! these are the same type people that would keep one from going to the movie theater,or going out to eat at certain restaurants,or keeping ones boat at a public dock, or parking your new car/truck in some store parking lots,or even ever wanting to shop in these stores, or using public transportation,or drive on the puplic streets,or join in on some unmentionable car forums, the list is endless.i think ya get the idea. yours truly, one. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

We have a road that dips under an interstate overpass on my way to work.

About once a year I see someone pass there and wonder how they can imagine seeing far enough ahead.

Anyway, it is also between me Mums house & my little Bro's place.

I was driving the backhoe out to his house one time and sure enough.....
Someone was passing a car over the rise and coming right for me.

I just reached over and raised the front bucket a couple feet.
(It's a big JD 615, bright yellow & very tall)

He locked up all 4 brakes & swerved back missing me by about a car length.

LoL, "I just reached over and raised the front bucket a couple feet." Funny stuff, I could just see that.

Very minor but still qualifies as IT... the trash pick-up in our neighborhood is twice weekly and there is one guy that insists on putting at least two trash cans in the middle of the sidewalk instead of in the corner of his driveway where it wouldn't be in anyone's way. At least twice a week while walking the dog, I have to venture through his yard to walk around the trash cans. He does this in the summer time with garbage bags of grass clippings, too.

Probably not. Most new cars don't come with ashtrays, and the cig lighters lack the actual lighter part and are called "accessory sockets". I think you have to order ashtrays specially now, and many people probably don't know this. However, since most cars come with about ten cupholders it isn't all that tough to keep an empty soda can in there, is it?

This is not to say that I at all agree with tossing cigs out of car windows, something I never did when I smoked.

I used to pick up ALL of the trash on a couple of major roads when I lived in Bethesda, down to and including cigarette butts. There are SO MANY butts. We walked the same routes evey day, and without fail, there was always several food store bags of trash every single day. People are pigs!!!. I only did this for a couple of years, but the friend I did it with did it for 12 years straight. We cleaned a minimum of 3 miles a night, and a max of about seven. Doing that will for sure change your mind about throwing butts out, and littering in general. The most amazing thing to me was that people had to see her doing this year after year, and there was still trash all over every day.

Oh, gee, did my doggie slip his lead and spread your rubbish all over your yard? I'm just SOOOOO Sorry. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

Bad dog....

heh... the trash collectors will ONLY pick it up if its in the street about a foot from the curb out here.

On my circle/cove we the four of us line em up in front of my place so the truck does not have to turn and dig up the pavement. Forward in and backs out.

Since we're still here....my neighbor definatly qualifies as an IT. Starts his old civic every morning and lets with run with the choke on full(it must be stuck or something??) for about half an hour, I am usually gone before he gets up though so that one doesn't bother me much. But there is more; he like to call the parking police on me if I leave any vehicles out on the street/court area too long, complained to the city about the fact that I put my garbage out an hour earlier than everyone else, complained that I keep my garbage cans against his house(when he does the same thing to the neighbor beside him). His kids are outta control and have made a few attempts to vandalise my cars; threw a rock at the Camaro one time(just missed), silly stringed the Jag(and part of the house wall), and threw a bunch of grapes into one of the B's....Just generally very inconsiderate people. I've talked with him about his kids numerous times but nothing ever changes. I used to like starting the Camaro on cold mornings with dual flowmasters(and no Cat) it would rumble away and occasionally backfire until it warmed up, I'd watch his bedroom window until the light came on then punch it on my way out for a nice final grunt /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif Now thats done with becasue the Camaro's in storage but I still get some revenge on the mornings when he's sleeping on the couch in the front window(his wife must get a little angry with him sometimes /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif ) while I am backing out I flick the highbeams into his front room /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif now I know this probably makes me a little bit of an IT too, but what the hey /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Got another good one from earlier today; I left work at lunch time to go visit my dad how was hospitalized last night becasue of an irregular heartbeat(he's ok now btw /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angel.gif) I am on the highway in the leftlane, traffic is light and I am doing about 120km/h(75mph??) outta nowhere some guy in a new mustang pulls up beside me with his window down yelling profanities and exerciseing a certain finger...I just looked at him and he suddenly crossed 3 lanes to catch his exit.....I know there is no way I could have done anything driving wise to anger him, I'd been in the same lane for the entire trip, traveling above the speedlimit, traffic was very light.....Just kinda makes you wonder what ticked him off so much?? I thought maybe my car flung up a rock into his windsheild or something since it's been kinda snowy and they put sand/gravel and salt down.

Why is it that the people with the loudest vehicles
(usually turbo diesel trucks)have to let them idle the longest?
My other pet peeve is people who drive around with
their driving lights on (especially in the daytime)-
-you flash your high beams, then they flash theirs, rather
than switching them off.
I'm seriously thinking of getting a pair of Super Oscars.
Glad to hear there's still some normal people out there.

After reading the other thread about the concert, and then I found this I will slightly hijack the topic and say this;

The upside of rude ITs is they really make it a sellers market. My wife is a previous batrtender/waitress, we've both done the retail and customer service gig, so we get it.

It is amazing the level of service we get just by exercising what my folks taught me at a young age. A little respect for anyone who brings you something pays huge divedends. I actually have to hide my laughter sometimes when my food arrives hot from the kitchen with a smile while the rude couple next to us still waits on theirs, all the while, berating the wait staff and they can't figure it out.

5 years agao, I am travelling over the holiday season, I was preapred for delays (it was just after 9/11). I approached the tickett counter and the poor girl's shoulder were already up to her ears from the tension. She gave me a robotic "Hello Sir how are you." to which I replied I'm great. How are you?"
"I'm fine sir."
"Really? You look like you've having a crappy day." This actually gets her to look up and smile a bit. She then tells me they overbooked the flight and I have to go to standby, to which I reply "No problem."

10 minutes later she calls me over and hands me a first class tickett. It was the last seat availible and she thought I deserved it. I thanked her sincerly and profusley and enjoyed my flight.

The exact same thing happened on the return. Poor ticket counter guy, has been yelled at about 4 times by 7:30 a.m when I arrive and was genuley happy someone treated him like a human being.

The closest I intentionally get to being rude is that I will not stand for someone berating an employee. On several occasions I have had to step up and tell some to knock it off, they are embarrasing me. Irinically this happens at fast food places more than anywhere.

But, I get as annoyed at anyone who cuts me off, leaves their stereo, up to loud etc, but I remind myself that in reality, they are making my life easier. With no special effort, just basic manners, I get a lot more accomplished than seems right.
