My practically unemployed daughter is still waiting for her 2019 and 2020 Federal Income Tax refunds. She could use the money. She also only got $560 for her stimulus check. She (and I) contacted the IRS many times; emailed our congressman and consulted a tax accountant. No dice. IRS is underfunded, understaffed and overworked. Now what?
 
We've had to deal with them on a couple of occasions. Hateful experiences, all.

You have our sympathies.
 
Of course she could go find an exciting career where she sets her own hours. How does she feel about saying "put the money in the bag and I'll be on my way while you have great story for the family"....

Seriously, hope they get it straightened out soon. I was surprised it only took 4 months for my 2020.
 
Wouldn't you know. She got a check today - her 2020 refund. Smaller check than the 2019 refund that has yet to come. She had a full-time job then as a public school teacher but had to quit due to a toxic work environment. You don't want to know.
