Rich (aka Mr Killer deal on a TR250 and Master Wrench) was an enabler today when I was all excited about having bought this;

when he pointed out that there was a 1966 TR4a black plate for sale locally for $2,500. Bum engine but O/D and supposedly no rust.

Well it turns out that there actually wasn't any rust. So of course....

So, you bought both?

You can sell the Final Italian Attempt at Technology to get the TR done, right?

I can't believe you are not divorced. You must have a very understanding, or very wealthy, wife.

Your wife is just gonna luv luv luv me.

I am focused - I am cutting the Volvo's loose to focus on buying more cars Drew.

Serious - the X 1/9 is an easy project, and the new '66 TR4A is a ton less work than the crappy '65 it will be replacing. The engine from that one will go into the new one and then with usual brake rebuild I should be motoring....

Sometimes you gotta cut your losses....

As long as you understand your mission.

Oh yeah - I'm focused on the SoCal TT as a compelling event Drew. Need 4, maybe 5 running and capable of fast road work by then. On track so far....

TR8 is ready
Capri is ready so long as it doesn't rain, or get dark out, or....
TR6 needs the OD to go back in
'68 TR4A is off for the rebuilt engine and O/D to be installed

Next up is the MGC, or Bugeye or the X1/9 or the..... Bugeye probably won't work well for this since it is pretty low geared.

You buy a Fiat & a Triumph,& post a picture of the.....
....Fiat?Where's one of the Triumph?
Be careful about who you hang around with - your Wife
might start thinking of Rich as a Eddy Haskell.

Tom, you're officially my hero. Jeez, my TR3 is all apart, and hasn't been touched for about 6 weeks. I've been shamed; I'll go out to the garage tonight and work on something.

A good friend of mine had an X 1/9 in the mid-80s. Dead nuts reliable, and we had a lot of fun in that thing.... Good luck w/ yours.

Thanks Kevin. But don't feel shamed - LOL. I'm only going for mechanical reliability. While I have a "rule" that anything I touch has to get restored (derusted, painted, replacement poly bushings etc) I'm careful only touch certain things!

Pictures! Must have pictures of the Triumph!

My brother has a Fiat Spyder and my Mom had one as well when we were growing up so I can't give you a hard time for buying a Fiat.
