So, I'm scanning the cable guide and see a listing for a sci-fi movie from the early sixties I'd never heard of called The Day Mars Invaded Earth. I went ahead and set the DVR to catch it.

Luckily, I watched it on the DVR rather than in real time. I could just FF to skim it. I like old cheesy sci-fi, but this one was just sad. Turned out to be a low buck rip-off of Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

The flick's one redeeming element came in the middle when a character shows up driving an MG. (IMCD identified it as a '54 TF)

If you're looking for another 1950s sci-fi movie, check out Red Planet Mars (1952).

A fantasy, but it really pulls out all the stops on science, politics, religion, world affairs and Communism - at the height of the Red Scare.

Looks like it had the, not so unusual, carb fire at one time. My TF had the same thing happen years ago and we believe it's what caused the accident after panic took over and they hit a guard rail. :crushed: PJ

Two other T series appearances in (slightly) more modern movies are the TF 1500 Chevy Chase drove in Funny Farm and the GORGEOUS TC the economics professor drove in Back to School.
