Looking for a 4A, 250 or 6. Any comments about the 2 X TR4As listed by Wilson Motor Company (wilsonmotorcomany.com)? I am an American working for the army in Germany, want to bring one back....will be in US end of March.....thanks...

While both of those TR4A's are very pretty cars, I'm not certain that TR4a's have reached the $30,000 price level. On the other hand, I'm no authority and don't want to come across as knocking them - It wouldn't be the first time I've been out of touch with current prices. On the '65 though, the placement of the starter solenoid isn't like any I've seen.

:iagree:
I would think you can find cars almost as nice if not as nice for at least 1/3 less.
The 250 looks like a better deal, or the Morgan is cool. Some would want to paint them right away, I wouldn't. But with used cars often a coat of paint and shiny carbs are the only difference between a driver and a so called restored car.

Hello and welcome to the fray.

I'd suggest that unless you're getting free shipping, you'd spend less money purchasing the car in the States. Prices tend to be higher in Europe, even with the weak Euro.

It isn't difficult at all to find nice TRs here, eBay and the usual sales venues have many examples, from total rust buckets to concours-ready cars.

Good luck, let us know . . .

Mark,

I read Bbob's intensions the other way. I thought he wanted to buy something in the states and take it back to Germany when he went back. The way you read it would defiantly change the answer! I have looked at the original post several times and now I’m confused. (Which and many of you have noticed is not a new condition for me!)

that is my intention....buy in the US and take back to germany.....i am tax and custom exempt in germany so that is my incentive to buy in the us.....also with the weak dollar the prices in Europe are extremely high......so where can i get a great TR4A,250 or 6 when I come in March? actually had a 250 when I was in the Air Force back in 72....

Many of the dealerships ask top dollar in their ads. I don't know anything about their willingness to negotiate.
A very nice example of any of your models of interest could be purchased and delivered to your home for less than $30,000.
