Hi all,
A good friend of mine in our car club is working on a Bugeye. He has the motor out and is thinking he'd like to replace it with a 1275 from a later car.
I told him about this site and I woulden't be suprised to see him join, but I said I'd post his request anyhow.
Anyone that has a 1275 that would consider selling it and is within a reasonable distance of the Fingerlakes region of NY. Either send me an email (click on my name, it's in my info) or a PM and I'll forward it to him.
Thanks all. I'm also posting this in the "Pub" forum.

I know of a rebuilt 1275cc engine in Knoxville Tennessee that's for sale for $300. I don't know the details of the re-build but I'll be happy to get you in touch with the seller.

Putting a 12G940 head is a must on the 1275 in a BE. At least that is what I did, it eliminates all the Smog Plugs. If you want one let me know. It is a bit expensive since it was only made for a few year and has been unleaded.

It is a very fine line on what is acceptable or somewhat with a 1275 in a BE.

I have kept mine as close to original externally and haven't had many complaints (ie valve cover etc) whats inside after this rebuild is another story. But it has always been a major goal of mine to make it as driveable as possible (fun factor) and to have some lineage.

heck if not, you might as well through a 6 or rotary in it.

Thanks everyone.
I'm forwarding any messages I get on to my friend.
Anyone else? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ben,
I haven't used these guys before but https://www.madhouseminis.com/ is in / around Northhampton, MA. and has (2) 1275's, one is "as is" and one has been freshened up with rings and bearings. They are both inline 1275's. He said $600 / $1000 on the phone. That seems high since I can get a parts car for that amount. What condition is he looking for?

I'm not sure what he wants. I'm just forwarding any info I get and letting him sort it out.
I'll see him at our clubs "pub night" tomorrow and see if I can get some more details.
