Back in the 60's I tended bar in the French Quarter at a very high-end bar named La Boucherie. It is now defunct so I can say. Besides the 93 brands of premium liquors behind the bar, we only drew premium tap beer such as Lowenbrau (one of the better draft beers in its day) and others. Our clientele was mostly well healed attorneys, judges, doctors, business men and women, etc. We were the best in our day. The beer on draft was actually all Old Milwaukee. No one ever figured it out.
CAB then and CAB now. We were under stick instruction to give the customer their particular call brand, the first drink. Any subsequent drinks were strictly well liquor, all drinkable but not premium. Again, never got called on that in three and a half years there.

Hey, Bill -

I remember well La Boucherie. (In fact, you may have served me and some of my buds..) And Carrollton Tavern, and College Inn, and Gunga Den, and lots of others in N.O. and Baton Rouge as well.

Your "disclosure" doesn't surprise me in the least!
