Today is Mickey's last day of work. Tomorrow Day one of retirement. Blessings my friend in this new chapter, and now you can sign on as full time Padre to this motley crew.

of course old priests never retire, they just get put out to pastor. :cheers:

On to the next step!

Congrats Mickey!

I guess you could say Mickey is going to Altar his course. Congrats Mickey!

Thanks, All!

Still trying to process the weekend celebration we've just been through; suffice it to say that I am completely overwhelmed at this point.

Heading over to Townsend tomorrow for a couple days to take care of some building items on the house. Lots of progress! Will post some pictures when I return.

Well, that's good news. Congrats, bro. Now ya gotta do some serious work! :jester::driving:

Got THAT right! Headed over to Townsend shortly with a load of ~stuff~ to store in the garage. Will be there a couple days, then back here to pack and load more... STUFF!

Congrats, Mickey! That's a big milestone.

Congrats indeed. This Friday I go to 50% time, which I'll try for 2 years and then hang it up completely (though might earlier). In my case, this means working 100% time for the Fall and Winter academic terms and 0% for the Spring and Summer terms (i.e., 1/2 year off to play). Who knows, maybe by the end of summer I'll think I should completely stop. :welcoming: My wife completely retires next April when I go on a 6 months off thing.

Did you turn over the flock to someone dependable ?...or will it be lost?

Not my concern. They'll begin a search process, and I'm not invited to participate. Which is a good thing! In the meantime it's in very capable hands with an associate priest and a very strong lay leadership. No worries on my end.

I'm sure the retiring body layed a pretty good foundation
