Improved Performance Plan - Opinions Please!

Don't tempt me! I also have a 351W block and a 289! In fact, that was my original plan. But after I got the car, I decided it might be neat to just keep the Triumph engine in it, at least for now.

So then I suppose that now would be the wrong time to tell you that a Ford small block with aluminum heads weighs less than a TR6 inline six cylinder engine. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

I already knew that. But my understanding is that it would also kill the rearend in short order, would be difficult to equip with a large enough cooling system, and would totally change the character of the car (good or bad, but it shure wouldn't sound like a LBC). Mostly, since this car is so original and with low mileage, I prefer to keep it pretty close to the way it started out. A V-8 version would be a kick, but not with this car. If I ever find another, maybe I'll do it to that one and sell the stang.

There are always ways around the cooling issues. Though the cockpit temps would be harder to control. The diff could be upgraded. Your right about the sound though and TR6 engines do sound so sweet. With the low mileage your car has, keeping it closer to original is probably a better overall idea. Your on target there I think. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif
