I thought you guys would enjoy this email I received (in my spam box) this morning. In addition to the bad grammar and misspelled words, note the last sentence: "... to combat the fraud from our community."

The attachment is an html file, which (if opened in a browser), takes you to a bogus Chase Bank page, linked to a website called "FormBuddy.com". Of course, the form asks you to enter all your Chase Bank login info.

I think I'll pass up this great opportunity ...

YOu should also never click on links in in this sorts of emails lest you risk getting malware, spyware, or a virus.

Agreed...don't open any attachment from morons.
In the old days, when they made this stuff part of the message, I used to fill them all out....I had a made-up SSN, name, address, e-mail...all of it.
Did it in a proxy server so they wouldn't know who I was.
Kept the data on a slip stuck to the side of my monitor.
Lionel Barrymore, at star@hollywood.com must have not been happy.

It continues to amaze me that people MUST be responding to this sort of phishing... because it continues. :nonono:

Same here. I know guys who get dozens of spam messages every day. All of them the typical "cheap medications", "funds waiting for you to claim", "dearest one I found you on the internet", "urgent account verification needed", etc.

I suppose if you can get a CD of millions of email addresses for $39 (or whatever), and you send each address a "get millions for only $40", you make a profit if only one sucker falls for it.

Imagine how fast spam would disappear if the sender had to pay one cent for each message. I'd agree to that myself, it everyone else had to do the same.

I'll have my team start working on it ...
