I noticed what looked like the front end of a MGB on an article about
RBW building electric cars in Danville, about 1-1/2 hours from here. It's
cool to see more MGBs around, but I'm not too keen of them converting
Bs to electric power.

People who own the cars really can do whatever they like, but I do have some feelings about it.

I'm an "it depends on situation" type when it comes to converting classic cars like that. If you have a car thats already got a bad (or missing) drivetrain, or some other problems that make it really impractical to save in its normal configuration, than it seems more reasonable to me than tearing apart an otherwise sound example.

Other possibility is they could be building their cars on Motor Heritige bodyshell foundations, not retrofitting existing classics. That would just be flat out cool in my opinion, plus giving a lifeline to British Motor Heritage in the form of extra sales. I'm curious to know more about their product....

At the end of the day your car your choice. At least with over a half a million cars made there will be a few original ones left. :D

I was at VIR this past weekend and they had a couple of them on display. Pretty sharp and they bodywork and interiors were immaculate but I share your doubts. Asked the guy how they keep the frames from rusting without oil dripping off the engines and coating everything underneath . He just laughed and said good point.

Room for anything other than a driver/passenger could be a question too. Saw online a Sunbeam Alpine converted to electric, they added 1200 pounds of battery using up all the trunk and behind the seats space. Whatever the owner wants to do, but how useful is it really if it's either a passenger or that bag of stuff you grabbed at the grocery??..

Wire wheels on an electric E Type, playing card and a clothes peg it would sound just like a real one
