I used my map, figured every route, did my math - & then didn't look at the minimum speed so tried to bribe a cop - WRONG!!

OK, I made the ultimate rookie mistake (s), I got caught in the moment, went crazy too fast, then handed a box of day old donuts to the official. All wrong.
Tomorrow, it's on.
Compass, sextant, astrolabe, OS (USGS if I can scam them) charts, stopwatch and fresh donuts, the whole lot.
 
I used mapquest(cuz thats all I got).....but mapquest is pretty much an approximation and I ended up with my foot down a little to far.

At least I'm not in last place. Damned official wouldn't be bribed and I was driving too wussy (wussily?). I was late, but I didn't wanna push my '61 Morris Minor Traveller too hard. They're sensitive, ya know. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grouphug.gif

I pulled into the 1st checkpoint with 2 minutes to spare... So I had a beer. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif
 
2nd leg I arrived 5 points early & raised my score to -11...but then the old bribe opportunity reared its ugly head (why do those oficials even offer?) & I'm now down to -26....but, hey, that's an improvement!
