Can't believe I had this since 1968, but I do. All the pieces appear to be there, it is just no longer my cup of tea, so I am offering it free to the first person who cares to complete it.

That's why I bought it and now it is yours. As to the original car, I eventually launched the '64 over a center divider. Moved the front end to the left and rear about 3 inches and that was that.

PM me your details.

Nice score there Tom, and its even BRG!!

will need pics when your done...

That is interesting, I launched my '64 too, end over end, kitty corner, and sideways. I was thrown out and not injured. The car was repaired and required all new body panels, the trunk lid being the only body part reused. That was in '65 and new original parts were readily available.
That is still my favorite car ever.
Ray, I owe you a favor and do hope I can do something for you.

...cool gift....we need to post our....mishaps... as young Brit car drivers.... could be some funny stuff. I have more than a few. For some reason most involved youth and booze somehow.

Hi There Tom & Ray,

Story of my life lately! "Day Late & a Dollar Short"!

Ray; Super nice gesture in offering (FREE) a nice car like that to the members here!

I have a real nice 1/18th scale Die Cast collection of virtually every car I have ever owned. I have a Red TR4 but "Back in the Day" I owned a BRG one!

Have fun Tom & post some pics upon completing the "Restoration"!

Regards, Russ

First let me say how much I appreciate Ray's offer. I have been looking for a TR4 model for many years. So this fulfils a long time desire.
Thanks much Ray!
I will post pics but cannot say when this will be done. I do plan on making it as accurate as possible to the TR4 I had.

I was just wondering if you add some water would it....? Nah, just dreaming!

Outstanding! And probably generous too - just think with a little ebay imagination: "TR4 project, absolutely zero rust - all parts there, just needs assembly..". Even at 1/32 scale that could bring in some cash!

Ray-

Neat, I meant my last comment as a joke, I never looked for the old vintage kits on ebay before - I always figured those old kits were long since built by someone. I was the kid who always customized their models, adding parts from one to the other, and typically never getting one completely done before moving on to the next. As I think about it I haven't changed much now that I work on the real thing.

Randy

The first model car I built was a TR3a

About a year ago I bought a model off Ebay, and it is waiting to be built.

I'm going to modify it from a TR3a to a TR3.
