It was unusually warm today, so I built a fire in the garage and decided to put the top on the car. I think it turned out pretty good.

Is that Canvas? if so, how did you stretch it? or did you stretch it?

Yes, it's canvas. I didn't really stretch it. I put it on snug with the tension relieved on the frame. When it was installed, I released the frame tension and it took out any slack left.

Need more pictures to accurate assess prettiness but I really do love your black and red. Someday I hope to park my red and black MK1 next to yours, they'd look cool together I think. BTW my top is a Robbins and therefore should be pretty darn good but it fits very loose even when cold cold cold.

Mine fits very well except for around the side curtains. ther is more gap than I would like at the back of the curtains. Here's another picture.

Jeff,

One of these days, the wife and I are going to take the Midget on a road trip "home" to Michigan. All my family lives near Fremont which is about 30 miles SW of Big Rapids. Not too far from you. When that happens, we will have to get that picture.

That isn't too far from Hudsonville and a ride I'd love to take, took it last summer in fact (Newaygo which isn't too far from Fremont). So, yep that's a plan.

Hey Bryan,

How about a trip to Dayton, OH to visit the Air Force Museum. You could swing by Beavercreek, just a few miles away and install the new zip out rear window top I've got sitting in the back of the garage on Bugsy my '68 Sprite. Come on Spring. I need some warmer weather to get a top installed.

Hey fabulous work. Thanks for posting.

Jim,

I think anything other than a Frogeye or MK 1 top may be way too complicated for an old fart like me.. All that header rail, folding frame and rear bar stuff might be just enough to put me over the edge...
But that trip to the AF Museum would definately be great for an old retired wing nut.
