I'm new here, and have a question...

Hi, I'm Tim. I have an old Austin Healy Sprite that I plan on either parting out (most likely), or selling as a whole. It's not in any conditon to be restored as far as I know, but I think it has several good parts. It was given to my dad at least 10 years ago, but we don't want it. It was set up for racing, with a (4pt?) roll cage, and a blueprinted Ford Pinto engine, so it's far from stock form. I don't think the engine runs right now either.

I am not sure what model it is, so I was hoping someone here could tell me, here are pics of it:

I will post an ad in the classifieds section with more pictures when I find out what model I have.

Thanks.

That should be a '65 or '66 MkIII Sprite
Can you find the VIN? it should be in the engine compartment on the driver's side rail screwed on with two sheet metal screws

Hardtop is likely worth quite a bit.

Hardtop is likely worth more than the stuff under it.

Yep - I imagine quite a few on the BCF are drooling on that top right about now....

yep, cool hard top.

looks like a Dan Dare variation. Also appears to have a one piece bonnet. Not a bad bonnet scoop all things considered.

Ummmm would that hard top fit on a 72 Midget. If it will i might buy it from you.

Lets see under the hood bulge, do you have a photo of the Pinto power plant, and is it mated to a 4spd or 5spd

I will PM you my contact information. There are many parts I need

You get your PMs from the top task bar.. a my stuff flag will be flashing letting you know you have a message.

I think it is too short for a '72.

AAhhh come on it would be soooo much fun.

And unless its a 70-74 its not gonna fit my midget. :frown:

Hey someone for once and for all spell out which models will share hard tops. Perhaps we should make a sticky.

I believe with a lot of patience that top would be happy on my car. Please let me know if you intend to sell it separately.

Thanks fo all the info so far.

As far as parts, two people have PMed me. Here is a list of parts that are already "picked out,(pending condition of course):

-seats
-tail lights
-steering wheel
-dash
-hard top
-front headlight assemblies/ signals

I went out to look for the VIN tag, and couldn't find it. But on the hinge side of the drivers door, I found a tag that has either "ABL" OR "ABU" and the numbers "038982".

It is a 4spd manual tranny.

I am posting an ad in the classifieds section with a lot more pictures.
