I'm new here, and have a question...

Hi, I'm Tim. I have an old Austin Healy Sprite that I plan on either parting out (most likely), or selling as a whole. It's not in any conditon to be restored as far as I know, but I think it has several good parts. It was given to my dad at least 10 years ago, but we don't want it. It was set up for racing, with a (4pt?) roll cage, and a blueprinted Ford Pinto engine, so it's far from stock form. I don't think the engine runs right now either.

I am not sure what model it is, so I was hoping someone here could tell me, here are pics of it:

I will post an ad in the classifieds section with more pictures when I find out what model I have.

Thanks.

HI Tim, Welcome, I think you got the rusty model.I'm just kidding you. But there is a forum on here titled the "Spridget" they are the folks most likely to know what model your car is .

OH!!! by the way, if it can stand up by itself it is in a condition for some one to restore __Keoke-

Looks to me like a rusty Austin Healey Sprite, c 1965.

It is not worth much, especially with the Pinto engine. Parting a car out is very tedious. It takes years and the process will barely reduce what you have. Most phone calls and requests are dead ends. There might be some interest in the fiberglass top, there is for full size Healeys.

I suggest you take some pictures and put the car on a local Craigs list too.

Bill.

Looks like a '66 or '67 sprite due to having roll-up windows and two wipers. '68 has three wipers and '65 does not have roll-up windows. Look at the VIN and see if it is a HAN9... The odds of the DOT title reflecting the correct year model is slim... That's another story.
