First day of school tomorrow. Eldest starting highschool, Middle in Middle & littlest in Elementary. I get home and people are screaming at each other like they are being murdered. STRESSSSS is to the boiling point around here.

Go lock yourself in your car with your favorite book. It's the next best thing to driving.

Or just do what New Mexico drivers do - go for a drive AND read.

The grass is always greener...

Two off to college today, one gone already, one "undecided", or between semesters, I can't remember...two back to high school, two back to middle school and only one left in elementary school.

Is that 9 or 10?

Done with the "School thing" here, thank the lord I don`t have to go Pow Wow with the principal anymore. She didn`t much like me anyway when I told her "YEA" I gave him permission to Fight Back seeing how he told you that he had a problem bieng picked on and you choose to do NOTHING about it. Then she has the odasity to tell me well he {the one picking on my son} is an Honor student, O.M.G. I blew up like a stick of dynamite right in her face. I said, as I recall "I don`t care if he is Jesus Christ himself If he hits my son, I`m telling you right here right now my son has my permission to beat the living daylights out of him, so you better inform your pet pupil that he stands to be roughed up by not only my son thats here but his brother too! So if you don`t want trouble you`d best get off of your oversized derriere and do something about the situation.
Lord I`m glad I`m done with School! AND I`m sure there glad to be done dealing with me too.

I heard that a couple of schools have now outlawed the game "tag" at recess. Seems that a parent complained that his/her kid was being chased! Oh, the horror!

Bacl on topic, my one and only child is off to her sophomore year at college. It is quiet and lonely here at the house with just the wife, the cat, and me.

One just hit the bus - two to go.

I don't like tje "picked on" stuff either. My son has really long hair and is contstantly picked on. He ignores it and breaks down at some once in awhile. He's a little guy so I don't push the fighting back thing but then again, if he were bigger and picked on a I might not have him do it them either. I try to teach him to humor his way out of it. He is funny as all heck and with a look can bring us to tears of laughter, so my hopes are that he can make people think he is funny & then the hair thing will not be so bad.

aweman, my god i thought id written that myself, whats with those idiots that want to cast blame on those that rightfully protect them self? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/savewave.gif my son graduated last year business degree great job, great young man, no more teachers, no more books, no more having to talk to those schnooks!

My eldest boy had a miserable time at school through being picked on, but never told us......the younger one was picked on all through middle school, because of his temper they thought that it was "funny" to pick on him, but the summer before his freshman year at high school, he had one of those growing spurts, and went back to school bigger than most of his classmates.

He quickly gained a reputation as someone that you don't mess with.

Both of my Boys are/were capable of defending themselfs. The problem was ... I had told them If I hear of you fighting at school, I will have a piece of your derriere. There fore they were reluctant to retaliate. Until my oldest told me of his dilemma, I asked if he had went through the proper channels to resolve the problem. His answer astounded me and I even challenged him on it. He insisted at great peril {by me}, then I KNEW he was telling the truth. At that point I gave him the "Go Ahead", and he went ahead the very next day. As it turns out he did go a little overboard, beating this kid up pretty badly. I did kind of understand bieng he had been frustrated over the situation for quite some time. Needless to say there were no more incidences of anyone picking on him, his brother, or thier friends for that matter. After that meeting with the principal she elected to make an appointment with my wife hahahahahahahahaha what a mistake that was. My Wife didn`t cut her {the principal} any slack either. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/lol.gif

That sounds exactly like my high school, only it was the athletes who the administration made excuses for. The principal was the football coach, and the dean coached wrestling and some other sport, which I always thought was a conflict of interest and was roundly chastised for thinking. I just stayed the heck away from most people beacause, frankly, I have a ridiculously short fuse and didn't need the trouble with disciplinary action on top of being a mediocre student at best. But boy, it was a close thing.

Hey-zeus, and the few people who I still have contact with from those days wonder why I refuse to go to any of the reunions!
