Got a phone call this AM from a friend who has a 1985 Alfa Romeo Spyder Veloce. 138,000 miles. He bought it new and has all the maintenance records, owner's manual, and original sticker. He bought a new Audi about three months ago and his Alfa has been delegated to Sunday drives only.
His wife recently backed into the front end and really crunched the front cap (fender and hood are OK, just a big dent in the front end) and then a utility truck backed into it in front of his house and dented the rear drivers quarter. So, he thinks its time to find it a home with someone who loves these cars and will give it a good home. AND HE THOUGHT OF ME!!!
I'm so excited!!! An ALFA? OK its not British, but he'll let me have it for (are you ready?)----$500!!!!

It has a new canvas top, clutch rebuilt at 100,000 miles. Immaculate interior (seats need to be redone..but he has the expensive "wetsuit" seat covers on them) Carpet and dash are clean, no rust anywhere to be seen.

So, it looks like I will have a convertible to drive this Spring after all. And you bet I'll drive it dents and all!

VROOM- VROOM!!1 :driving:

Woohoo! Always good to have one running while you work on the others.

Terri -

You're gonna love it! I'm holding out for a Giulietta Spider - had one years ago when I couldn't afford it.

Still can't!

AHHHH..HEM!!!

Well, if you don't like it, it would be good trasing material for an LBC.

Terri - we can't have that little thing spending the night in your garage with your MGB's...leave it in the drive....Mickey & I will be over mid-week to give you a hand hauling that dented old thing off to the big graveyard in Alabama.

<SNORK!>

Colonel be trippin' again! It'd make it as far as Clarksville!

You're already in Clarksville....& you only work 1 day a week!

He's holdin' out for that '62, Tony... silly as that is. :devilgrin:

'55-'65 - As long as it looks like this!

Fun to drive, tough to work on.

Not in th' least!!! Easiest beast on the planet to work on. PAYING for that work can be a bit of an exercise, tho. 'specially the parts bill.

Yep - I resurrected one at the tender age of 21, with only VW experience!

It appears mechanically speaking there's nothing to work on....(I hope) Body work....well, that's another whole can of worms.

BUT...

Back to Terri: Tell us more! Got pictures?

Beat me to the punch!

Terri;
Good score. But now Doc Mickey and Tony are all jealous. Hope Your Happy!
They'll whine for weeks.
Send pictures, you know we like pics.
