Deal struck with a member of our car club. I'm going up to thier house to do some tranny seals on thier MK IX and they're gonna give me a good motor out of a MK IX parts car thay have (along with making a deal on some other goodies on it) for My 58 MK VIII

I know Doc. I've yanked the heart out of an E-type before. Talk about tight!!!!!! And you're right that's one big heavy lump!
 
Talked to those folks again last weekend.
I'm gonna go up in the spring and do the tranny seals on thier car, then they say I can scavenge the parts car all I want! Basically they offered to give me the car, but I really don't have a place for it, and I guess bodywise it's in bad shape along with the interior being gutted.
C'mon spring!!!
