Just not a good day on the midget. Total waste of effort. I'm ready to do something bad to this car. Things are just not going my way at all today and I'm getting pretty depressed, got into the homebrew which is also down there in the cold basement and now I don't care. Why do I even bother. What's the point.

My granddad used to tell me that when I got angry with a car I should throw a cover over it & walk away - not even look back - until I was in a mood to work on it again....even if that was months or years.

So, toss the cover over it & take a break!

Sorry to hear Kim.

It is, however, amazing how clear and composed one can be when you return next weekend to finish the battle.

Definitely I agree with Tony & Boz - take a break! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
It will all be worth it when you eventually get done!

Kim...you knew this would be coming...

It's all relative.

In another thread our friend Jay talked about dodging bullets and mortars. I sure there are lots of folks doing the same that would love to trade a "good" day in the field, for a lousy day in the garage.

I have a buddy that will tell you that even his worst day in the garage beats his best day in chemo.

Yesterday I helped a friend knock some old, tired wire wheel hubs, for his Midget, off otherwise good axles so he could put on new hubs. My finger got between a three pound hammer and the axle.

The bum finger will feel better when it stops hurting...the friendship will go on a long time.

Let it rest a few days; wait until you have more time than it will take to do the job; enjoy the doing.

PS - I'll swap my purple finger for your ruined emblem /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

If that was a direct blow I would have it x-rayed. That's from someone who has seen a number of fractures in 17 years of Veterinary practice!

Listen to the advice of the pros. Back away from the car and cover it up. Clean-up the basement and organize your tools. You'll come back organized and ready to tackle the project. Even a short period of time away will do wonders!

eeep. MY hand is throbbing now just seein' that photo. X-ray indicated.

Kim: "Step away from the machine."

A bit of time/distance and on next encounter do a small job or two first. Pick something unrelated to the last go. Any progress is still progress. Sometimes the "pile" can be intimidating but if you do a "divide and conquer" approach by separating tasks you'll soon have nibbled it to completion.

...and remember Douglas Adams' mantra: <span style="color: #CC0000">"DON'T PANIC!"</span> /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/iagree.gif Yup! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/iagree.gif Our parts B is fighting us right now. I think it kinda knows this is its final stop and every bolt, screw and nut is either stuck tight, broken off, or stripped out. Soooo now I'm playing on the the forum and watching football because if I stay out there, I will break something I needed or hurt myself with frustration. I'll get back to it later today (or next week) ...

/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif wise move! I'm about to go pound dents - at least frustrations will get worked out /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif
