I'm back!!!

Offline
Finally!

I know alot of you have wondered where I've been. Well, back in the summer, we had a bad storm in which lightning fried all of our electronics - TV's, stereos, and both computers and all the network equipment. We finally replaced everything... took a long time and a lot of money to replace everthing... But now I'm back. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/savewave.gif

I hope y'all didn't miss me too much. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

I'll do a "what's for dinner?" post tommorrow night - hehehehehe.

PS. I just checked my email, and special thanks to Basil, Janel, Tony, and bugeye for their concerns over my well being. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Welcome back! I missed the Pinky & the Brain sig.

Well, its about time!! I remember you talking about that storm...hope your insurance helped!

Let me be the second to say Hot Diggity Darn!

And, since I may not stop in tomorrow, cheese tortellini with grilled chicken and sundried tomatoes.

-Wm.

ETA-now I'm third. Bugger!

ETA II-changed a swear word to "darn". Put a dollar in the BCF swear jar.

Holy Cow! Welcome back Kenny. There a bunch of catching up to do.

First thing you have to do is learn that Crypty has a new name
Amos
I probably shouldn't have used the "C" word.
Yikes.

I was just thinking about you today!!!!!!!

Welcome home.

Thought I was gonna have to send you another $1 on PayPal as a bribe to come back!!!!!

How appropriate that I had just finished watching an episode of Pinky and the Brain, to come in and find this!!
Don't do that to us again, man!
Jeff

Man, welcome back. It's about time.

Have you considered a whole house surge protector.

Yes Don, I was setting here thinking the same thing. Lightening arrestors can be installed in the main power panel. Alternatively, a professional can install a lightening rod on the roof. If there is a tall tree close to the house cutting it down may be the cheapest option.---Fwiw---Keoke

Certainly pleased you're back, KP. Now hurry up and catch up on what, forty thousand posts since ya left? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

Glad yer here. Sorry to hear of the "emboldened electron" attack. Get a "ZapCap" from the local "Flicker-n-Flash" power company installed. Then THEY pay the next time. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

I have a really good surge protector on the desktop computer that covers power and thenetwork cable coming from the cable modem... but everything else is exposed to lightning. I didn't know about whole house protectors.

As a township employee, check with your buds in the electric division. Might be able to get a discount. It goes on the outside of your place and protects everything.

What's this "whole house protector"?

Big surge protector that goes on the incoming line before your panel box. Not a 100% guarantee of protection in my book...but a LOT better than the individual surge protectors commonly seen. Consider a form of "insurance".

I had one installed on my new house....and had one on my old one as well.
