Hi all, after a hiatus of a few years without my last spitfire, and after 15 years from owning my last MGB, I'm back with a 1980 russet brown MGB that I purchased yesterday. Bought it for quite a bit less than the car should've gone for, but the owner needed to move on quickly so I jumped on it. A rubber bumper B in brown wasn't my fist choice, but this car has had the outer rockers and doglegs done, the floors, sills, trunk, etc are rust free. The interior is in excellent condition including the dash.
The car only has 105,000 kms on it(64,000 miles). The engine is strong and the lovely snickety snick gearbox is graunch free, excellent syncros. So I don't think this car has been abused. For the price and condition I couldn't pass it up. I'll be applying for collector status plates shortly which the car had on it from the previous owner. This means really inexpensive insurance and allows me to have the car plated all year round for cheap.
I'm feeling pretty puffed up now that I own an example of each of the two most popular sportscars ever made!
