Spent a week in the northern Catskill mountains (with about 50 inlaws) and a weekend in NYC (first, and last, time).
Did not see one LBC, anywhere. Thought about taking the rental down to Valley Forge, but payback would be too much for the wife. Good to be home. My car missed me.

Bill-

Welcome back - the forum missed you! Can't believe you didn't sneak out for 'just a little bit' and head down to the convention. Yes, paybacks are tough, but if I didn't rely on them I wouldn't have my LBC.

Haven't been to NYC yet - what was the problem?

Nuff said.

Actually enjoyed my stint in the city. Real eye-opener. Saw Ground Zero, a play (Hairspray - it's a girl thing, I walked out and took a cab back to the hotel), lots of rude people and Russian cab drivers, tall buildings, hookers, exxxxspensive......

All in all, a good trip. Now I can say I have seen it.

Stirkle,

The city is one of the wonders of the world to look at. I used to have to go there yearly and hated every minute of it. The only good time was when my parents took me to the World's Fair.

Now that I don't have to ever go there again, it's an OK place.

Paul,
I had to drive into NYC about 4 months ago for business. I was actually pleasantly surprised at how easily I slid in and slid out between 11:00AM and 1:30PM. The traffic pattern is set up so that it keeps traffic moving. You can only take left turns at every other intersection. Driving throughout the "Big Dig" for the last 20 years makes one prepared for anything I guess.
