Greetings, Brit enthusiasts. I'm looking forward to people's postings, the wealth of knowledge within these pages, and general camaraderie. Cheerio.

Welcome! I have a 67 4.2 Series I. I have a neighbor, Doug, with what may be the earliest knows true 100M in existence. The car had been his wife's, but unfortunately she passed a couple years back. Got pictures of your E?

Oh. Right. TroyThunder is a nickname given to me decades ago for a skit. My name is Paul. I live on the San Francisco peninsula. 60-years-old as of December. I'm a bit of a hobbyist; a tinkerer, an amateur machinist, and an all-around handy guy.

My first car was a Mustang II. Then, a 1971 'Cuda 440 4-spd, the engine of which I rebuilt. Then a Triumph TR3, the whole car of which I rebuilt. Then, a hiatus (career, marriage, raised family.) Re-entering the auto hobby, I bought a 1965 BMW R60/2 with an original TR500 sidecar (currently under overhaul.) Then ... this Jaguar. Which was my first experience with Jaguar. Ridiculously easy to work on! (People scoff when I say that ... but it is true. It's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.)

This is a 1963 XK-E DHC/OTS. Numbers-matching. It had sat (with engine damage) in Napa Valley (indoors, perhaps in a wine cellar?) for nearly 40-years. The last registration sticker on the license plate was from 1986.

The #5 cylinder was full of motor oil; the other five were badly rusted. The bonnet had no less than 5lbs of poorly-applied Bondo. The wiring harness insulation was cracked and exposing bare wires. Hydraulics were frozen. Fuel system was gunky ... and reeked!! (I'd never smelled stale gasoline before.) Upholstery was tattered. Spent 2+ months with my sleeves rolled-up, then sent the car to Images.

Oh! And ... and ... I am just toying with the idea of doing a Jaguar 120 next. If anyone has guidance.
