Just thinking about this for some reason. Anyone done it? Is it hard to do?

I have done it a couple of times. It's not too hard but you need all the parts, not just the dash.
Steering column, signal switch, crash pad, and you have to drill a hole on each side between the windshield and the crash pad to bolt up the corners of the dash.
Older cars had a fitting for a nut there, newer cars would need a captive nut or I use a carridge bolt and you have to look hard to see it in the inside corners of the windshield.

It's that spear aimed towards my chest when removing the collapsable steering column that has held me back.
