Hi, My BN1 1954 100/4 service manual mentions an 'Ignition Warning Light". I can't find one on my facia & it's not mentioned on the instruments & controls diagram.
My guess is it's not an ignition but a charging indicator but I still can't find it.
Anybody shed light?

Re: Walker sim

Hello Walker, I don't have info on the 4 cyl. cars but here is a drawing of the early 6 cyl cars that might help you. On the early 6 cyl car the light is a small light on the bottom of the tach gauge. It is the charge indicator light. It has a white wire that goes to the ignition switch and a brown/yellow wire that goes to the voltage regulator. Don't know if the 4 cyl cars would be using the same colours but it shouldn't be too hard to find.

Should be on the lower/center part of the tach dial. It basically indicates the electrical power source; if it's lit you're running off the batteries, if not--hopefully--you're running off the dynamo (I believe it's wired in series with the cutoff switch in the regulator). Interestingly, it's recommended that you use a lamp instead of an LED bulb in this application, though I ran an LED for many years/miles with no issues. With an incandescent bulb, if you look close you can see the light fade as the dynamo takes over.
