ignition timing mark

On my BN2, the 3 pointer indicator is missing. I am assuming this attaches to the lower front cover bolt.

1) Is that correct

2) Anyone have one sitting around for sale?

Thanks

Bruce

Not sure what the '3 pointer indicator is.' Our BN2 (100M) has an embossed arrow on the timing cover, which points to a small hole in the crankshaft pulley at TDC/1.

Nice collection of cars, BTW.

Bob - thanks. More investigation seems like there is not any indicator as a separate piece.

When you say "hole" do you mean more like a notch or what one might call a filed out line across the pully edge. Hard to explain but I do have a notch in the pully.

Where abouts is the embossed arrow - left side, right side, towards the top etc?

Thanks

Bruce

Bruce,
Mine has a small hole just away from the edge. I filed a notch on the edge and added a dab or white paint to make it more visible. I have one timing cover with a stamped arrow and another with no mark at all.

Found it with help from you all.

Thanks very much.

My BN2 cover has an arrow stamped. What I will do is put some white nail polish and works great for timing purposes...!!!!
If you are going to put one of course you will need to have the exact location in order to have TDC....

If you need a picture... my cover with the arrow is sitting of a shelf so it is very simple to take a picture. let me know jvvmusme at yahoo.com
