Ignition keeps cranking

Ralpher

Still Lurking
Offline
I have a 1977 MGB...When I turn the ignition key to start car, the starter keeps cranking and does not turn off even after I turn the key to off position. I have to disconnect the battery in order to stop the car from cranking.
Does anyone have any thoughts or possible solution?

Thank you
Ralpher

Ralpher -

First, you'll get more input by posting in the MGside of the forum. Having said that, sounds like your ignition switch is due for a cleaning of its terminals, or possibly replacement.

Good luck, and be sure to post this in the MG forum and let us know what you discover.

Oh, and welcome to the BCF!
