Ignition conversion on 58 Bug Eye back to original

What would be needed to change my "turn and start" ignition back to the original 1958 Sprite ignition? Would I need to just change out the controls in the dash or would I also need a new starter? I'm not sure how the system works. Now it starts by just turning the key.

Thanks and Happy Holidays.

Sounds like you have a later ignition switch and a starter relay. Bugeyes had a pull switch for the starter; it's no problem to remove the relay (AKA starting solenoid) and install the pull switch. However, the bugeye ignition switch had the light switches built in, so you'd probably want to rewire that as well. I don't know what your car has done with the light switches. If they're separate from the ignition switch, you could leave them that way.
